Why the appeal ?

The Merrigum  Football Club has launched a appeal to raise funds to assist in his rehabilitation and future care.

Who Is Jack Anderson?

Jack is a 54 year old Echuca man who suffered  a serious injury while playing  a reserve match for Merrigum  on July 16th As a result Jack has been left a  quadriplegic  Jack Has played almost 600 games of Aussie rules click on About Jack to see some articles on his achievements.

The incident 

Shortly before 3 Qtr time a freak but entirely fair contact was made with Jack’s head who immediately went to ground, on assessment trainers from both sides immobilized the player advised the umpires to stop the match called for the ambulance who on arrival requested that he be airlifted from the ground to the 
Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He has now been transferred to the spinal unit at the Austin hospital
